Idea for project: Habitat for Humanity stories – Website that has a number of stories that tell stories about the organization’s work. Explore your local habitat?

Header undecided.

Send ideas/suggestions for visual/graphic aspects of the site to Tom by next Friday May 7th. Look for ideas on themedforest.com.

Goal is to incorporate a story-telling narrative. Include testimonials from beneficiaries and volunteers.

Stories will link the viewer to a location where they can learn more and provide assistance.

Stories:

  • Fereshta- Print story: profile on diversity of people who are being assisted.
  • Emma- Photo gallery/slide show: Day in the life interview w/ a volunteer.
  • Krista- Audio to complement Emma’s slideshow
  • Aaron- Video story: follow-up story w/ family that received assistance from H4H.
  • Liz- Site visit, home how-to (LEED). Will ask for more info on outlet store.
  • Katie- Print story: administrative profile. Economical effects, etc.

    Hey peeps!

I was thinking of doing a video story featuring an organization for at-risk, or underprivileged children (such as Tree House, or Seattle Children’s Home, etc.)

However, since the video would involve children, it may not work; along with HIPAA and stuff.

If no go with kids, I am sure I could do a story about GoodWill or RealChange.

Also, if anyone is creating text, I’d be happy to help edit!

Finally, can Keala and/or Liz, make me an administrator of the site?

    Thanks! :-)

I would like to do a text story about the families (how to get nominated) and then a video about LEED building possibly.

Liz-is anyone doing a story on the outlet store yet? if not i’d be interested. I wasn’t really sure whether or not that’s part of your LEED story or just another idea…

    • Liz Lantz says:

Yes, I believe Nate is doing a story on the Outlet mall. :)

      • Hey Liz, I was wondering if I posted my story idea to the right place. I’m not completely sure where to go, and what we decided as to who’s contacted Habitat for Humanity. Was there supposed to be an e-mail, because I haven’t received any e-mails regarding this project.

      • imogenj says:

Okay then it’s kind of hard to follow who is covering each story between all of our lists, but are there any stories that still need to be covered?

  6. I was thinking I could do an audio piece, or video about the employees and volunteers – “Why we build.” Sort of the philosophies idea someone posted… Why do they do what they do, what do they hope to see come out of it. Get a variety of people – veteran employees, people that just started, and veteran volunteers and one-timers.
